The Department of Hindi was initiated by appointing Abdul Karim Al-Aman, (M.A) as Lecturer who joined and has been imparting his service since 15th December/1999. Dr. Syed Atowar Rahman is another faculty in the department joined the College on 1st September/2000. Latifa Begum is the third faculty joined the College on 22nd December/2009. Major course in Hindi was introduced in the session 1998-99 with due permission of Gauhati University.

    Hindi is a subject which is essential in each step of historical background of Indian History of Hindi Literature. The basic of Hindi is “Man has introduced with political, Social, and economical condition of pre India”. We the people are to know Hindi language as Rastrabhasha of India and civic responsibility of “Rastrabhasha Hindi”. Therefore, to utilize their knowledge in finding practical solution to individual and community problems.

1. To impart higher education in Hindi in degree level for Major and General Course.
2. To develop History of Hindi Literature consciousness among the students in particular and the society in general.
3. To develop a sense of understanding of the national linguistic issues among the students.
